'Sunflower Codes' series

'Sunflower Codes' 시리즈의 그림들은 꽃 그림보다, 서로 다른 삶의 조각들이 색으로 번역된 코드들에 더 가깝습니다. 보는 사람들이 해바라기의 형태를 찾기보다는, 숨겨진 해바라기를 둘러싼 색의 호흡을 먼저 느끼면 하는 바램으로 작업하였습니다. 무상한 시간 속에서 매 순간 달라지는 나의 마음과, 그럼에도 이어지고 있는 길의 흐름이 이 색의 떨림 속에서 전해질 수 있다면, 그리고 그 떨림이 잠시라도 각자의 삶과 겹쳐질 수 있다면, 이번 작업이 맡은 역할은 충분히 다한 것이라고 생각합니다.

The paintings in the Sunflower Codes series are closer to codes translated into color, fragments of different lives, than to flower paintings. Rather than searching for the shape of a sunflower, I hoped viewers would first sense the breathing of color surrounding the hidden sunflower. If, within the transience of time, the shifting states of my mind from moment to moment, and the flow of a path that nevertheless continues, can be conveyed through these tremors of color, and if those tremors can overlap, even briefly, with each person’s own life, then I believe this body of work will have fully fulfilled its role.
